Meet Wanda a lovely 7-8 year old medium crossbreed (40cm/16” shoulder height) who came in due to her owner not claiming her from the pound. She is a very friendly girl and makes new friends very easily. She has had a case of happy tail in the past which is where she has wagged her tail so much while in her kennel that it hit the sides of the kennel causing it to bleed, that’s how happy she is! She was moved to a different kennel to prevent this reoccurring. Wanda has just started to spend time with a foster family who are shocked that no one wants such a loving girl. In the house she fills the room with happiness and loves to carry her toys around with her and entertain herself with them. She doesn’t jump up on furniture and prefers her ever so comfortable dog bed that’s she’s been provided with surrounded by all her toys. Wanda is not always keen on other dogs and so cannot be rehomed with another however will walk with them on lead. On walks she can be pully as she has places to be and things to sniff but with training this will be much better. With her foster she has greeted other friendly dogs on lead and has had lots of fun paddling in the local pond. Wanda hasn’t been taught any recall and so must be kept on lead at all times while on walks, a long line is recommended to allow her some freedom in safe areas. She knows some basic commands such as sit, wait, down, paw and can still learn more! Wanda is house and crate trained, neutered, microchipped and can be left alone for 4 hours although her new owners need to build this up to start with to avoid distress. Wanda would like like a cat and child free home with a family who will give her 2 walks per day and lots of love. She would like to be kept on a diet to help her shed a few pounds as she has quite a porky belly which will not help her joints in later life. Wanda LOVES to play fetch and would like some toys in her new home to carry around with her. On warm days she likes to relax in the sun and roll in the grass as long as there’s a nice shady place with water to cool down in afterwards. Wanda is a really lovely girl but has had little interest while at the rescue which we simply can’t understand! Her foster family would love to see her find a home that can give her the permanent loving home she truly deserves. Please consider Wanda as your new addition to you home as she has lots of love to give and a happy tail to wag.

Archie
Archie is a male 7 year old American bulldog cross staffie. He has come from the pound so we have little background information on him. He came to the rescue underweight and with some skin sores. He has put on 3 kg now and weighs around 30kg, his sores are also healing. Archie has an amazing personality and shows so much love to everyone. He has a heart of pure gold and loves to have cuddles. Despite being 7 he looks and acts 4! He can be a little jumpy when he first meets people and is excited but is learning that all four paws on the ground is best. Due to this he can live with children aged 10 plus, this can be lowered pending on their experience with dogs. Archie  knows some basic training such as sit but would like to learn more with his new home. He is house and crate trained, neutered and microchipped. Archie doesn’t like being left alone for long periods of time so would like his new owner to leave him for no longer that 2 hours to start off with and then through training extend this until he is comfortable being alone for 4 hours. Archie is dog friendly however gets very excited when meeting them or if he sees one on a walk. He could live with another well matched pal pending on a pre meet up. We are unsure of his temperament with cats but believe he will be friendly yet may chase, a tester day can be arranged for him.  On walks Archie does pull a bit but with further training will walk nicely.
He is such a friendly and loving boy with a bright future. There will never be a dull moment with Archie in your life!

Rupert
Rupert is a 9-11 year old Jack Russel terrier cross. He is looking for a new home through no fault of his own after his owners living situation changed suddenly.  Rupert is a friendly and playful lad and is completely ball/toy mad. He LOVES to play fetch and will happily do so for as long as you have the will power to throw the toy.  No matter his age he is a lively lad and really enjoys his walks but can be nervous of joggers and other dogs so must be kept on lead at all times, long lines are recommended so he can still play fetch on his own in the park.   Rupert does have some arthritis in his joints which can make his elbows and hips sore which can make him grumpy if he feels under threat. We believe this is partly the reason he is unsure of things on walks, new big scary situation, painful joints, oh dear got to defend myself.  It also means he doesn’t like being picked up or pushed around so cannot live with children under the age of 10. He can live with cats and has done so in his previous home but cannot live with another dog.   Rupert knows his basic training and can do down, sit, stay, leave, wait etc. He is crate trained and house trained however her prefers a play pen instead of a crate.  The owner has left his 6 panel pen as it is his safe zone so this will be provided by the rescue as well as his bag of treats and toys. Rupert can be left alone for up to 4 hours at a time.
Although he can be a little shy of new situations at first he will warm up to people on his own terms and when he does they will enjoy endless cuddles and games of fetch.
Celeste
Meet Celeste a beautiful 6 year old staffie cross (around 50cm shoulder height). She is looking for a home though no fault of her own as her owners are having to move out and are unable to bring her with them. She is an absolute sweetheart and is a very loyal and loving dog who is full of fun. Celeste would suit a family of any size or a couple. She’s a people dog and loves to snooze on the sofa with her human companions. In the summer she has been enjoying her early morning walks and chilled time out in the garden where the hose and bubbles keep her nicely entertained. Celeste is house trained, neutered, microchipped and can be left alone for upto 4 hours. She would like a cat free home but could be rehomed with another dog pending on a pre meet up. On walks she can pull at times but her recall with her owner is very good and she doesn’t bother with other dogs (We ask that adopted dogs are kept on lead for at least the first 3 months and recall training is practiced before attempting to allow them off lead). Celeste loves her toys and enjoys playing fetch although she may not always give the toy back! She has her basic training and knows sit, down, paw, high five, leave and wait. Celeste is such a loving dog and is a true softy; she has been well loved and will be missed by her owners but we know she can find a home that will love her just as much! Please get in contact if you would like to meet this gorgeous girl after reading the adoption process below
