Meet Wanda a lovely 6-7 year old crossbreed who came in due to her owner not claiming her from the pound. She is a very friendly girl and makes new friends very easily. She has had a case of happy tail in the past which is where she has wagged her tail so much while in her kennel that it hit the sides of the kennel causing it to bleed, that’s how happy she is! Wanda has since been moved to a different kennel where she can wag her tail injury free. Wanda is not always keen on other dogs and so cannot be rehomed with another however will walk with them on lead. She knows some basic commands such as sit, wait, down, paw and can still learn more! Wanda is house  and crate trained, neutered, microchipped and can be left alone for 4 hours.  Wanda would like like a cat and child free home with a family who will give her 2 walks per day and lots of love. She loves to play fetch and would like some toys in her new home to carry around with her. Wanda is a really lovely girl but has had little interest while at the rescue which we simply can’t understand! Please consider Wanda as your new addition  to you home as she is a beautiful girl with lots of love to give and a happy tail to wag.

Duncan is a 19 month old French bulldog X  Chihuahua X Pomeranian. He is a really sweet and characteristic boy who loves his ball, Kong and teddy. He likes to have a toy that he can carry around with him and entertain himself with. Duncan is high energy and is with us after his owners couldn’t cope with his “boisterousness” and did not do the training needed.  After being in the rescue for a while now he has improved a lot and is able to control and channel his energy into training. He can still be a little jumpy when someone new arrives but will still listen to the command sit in order to calm down. Of course as a young dog he has plenty of energy so would like a home that will give him two walks, mental stimulation and play time every day. Duncan loves to have some fuss and is very friendly with new people as more people means more fuss and play!   On lead Duncan does pull and gets worked up if another dog is spotted so his new owner must agree to continue his training with this and go to quieter areas to begin with. Currently he is not dog friendly but with further training and slow and steady introductions we believe he can get along with other dogs in the future. He hasn’t had the training or socialisation he needed as a pup but this does not make him bad, it just makes him a project for someone to work on.   Duncan is  eager  to learn tricks and solve puzzles for food or toy rewards so is very malleable. He is house trained and crate trained, neautred and microchipped.
Please get in touch if you could like to meet Duncan or have any further questions
Woody
Woody is a 5-7 approx year old shar pei cross.
He is a big lad with a big heart full of love. Woody is an incredibly loving boy and loves a belly rub and a teddy bear cuddle. He is with us from the pound so we have no background information on him sadly which is why his age is an approximation. Woody is house trained and crate trained as well as being neutered and microchipped. He can be left by him self for upto 4 hours and is happy to chill in a large crate with a comfy bed to sleep in. At the rescue he has achieved the nickname Spud as he is like a potato with legs. Woody needs to go on a diet and lose a few pounds to prevent any joint issues later on in life and increase his quality of life. At the moment he is rather unfit and gets worn out easily so would like someone who will build his exercise up slowly. We’re sure he will want to look majestic in his bikini this summer! On lead Woody is rather laid back and pulls lightly until he’s tired out a bit however he can be very strong should he with to be. He will chase cats and squirrels should they be spotted so his new owner must be ready to hold his lead and have control.  He knows some basic commands such as sit, down and paw but can learn more with further training. Woody is not dog friendly and is a bit nervous of them however with the right training and positive reinforcement this should be helped. Helping his emotions towards dogs eg, fear will help his behaviour towards them. In the rescue Woody aka Spud is a couch potato and is very chilled out. He could live in a house with children aged 4+ but must be the only dog and have no cats.
He is a very sweet and laid back boy who just needs some TLC and a diet to get him back in his prime

Norman
Norman is a 3-4 year old approx Staffordshire bull terrier. He is a energetic lad and needs a home that can give him exercise and mental stimulation as well as lots of fuss!  Norman is a loving boy and just wants a back scratch and a cuddle. He can be a little boisterous and goes on two legs to get a treat or toy when he gets impatient with sitting but further training from an understanding owner will help this. Further training is recommended as Norman only knows sit currently but has potential to learn lots more once his energy has been channeled. He is not dog friendly but can walk on lead with other on lead dogs. Norman would like a cat and dog free home and can be housed with children who are comfortable with dogs ages 7+. He is a classic staffie and has a pure heart which powers is staffie smile. He is neutered and crate trained. We are unsure on his house training but he has been clean in his crate at the rescue.
Can you offer this bundle of joy a new loving home? Please get in touch if you would like to meet Norman or have any questions

Archie is a male 7 year old American bulldog cross staffie. He has come from the pound so we have little background information on him. He came to the rescue underweight and with some skin sores. He has put on 3 kg now and weighs around 30kg, his sores are also healing. Archie has an amazing personality and shows so much love to everyone. He has a heart of pure gold and loves to have cuddles. Despite being 7 he looks and acts 4! He can be a little jumpy when he first meets people and is excited but is learning that all four paws on the ground is best. Due to this he can live with children aged 10 plus, this can be lowered pending on their experience with dogs. Archie  knows some basic training such as sit but would like to learn more with his new home. He is house and crate trained, neutered and microchipped. Archie doesn’t like being left alone for long periods of time so would like his new owner to leave him for no longer that 2 hours to start off with and then through training extend this until he is comfortable being alone for 4 hours. Archie is dog friendly however gets very excited when meeting them or if he sees one on a walk. He could live with another well matched pal pending on a pre meet up. We are unsure of his temperament with cats but believe he will be friendly yet may chase, a tester day can be arranged for him.  On walks Archie does pull a bit but with further training will walk nicely.
He is such a friendly and loving boy with a bright future. There will never be a dull moment with Archie in your life!

Duke

Duke is a beautiful 10 month old male husky cross GSD. He would like an owner who has experience with dogs and is prepared to do their research on his breed.  Duke is around 27kg and is having 3 meals a day to put some weight on him as his ribs, spine and hip bones are easy to feel currently.   Duke has very basic training and currently knows sit. He is very smart and is eager to learn more so would do well in training classes. As a smart breed Duke would like plenty of enrichment in his new home such as kongs, we recommend joining the Facebook page Cannie enrichment for ideas.   On lead he can be rather strong and pully although with training he will walk nicely on lead as we have already started this with him. He would love a running buddy as it's in his nature to run long distances, due to his age we do not recommend starting canni cross with him while he is still growing. Bike rides are also a possibility when he is older and has had the necessary training for it. Duke needs a active home and would like at least 2 hours of exercise everyday alongside his training and enrichment.
Duke has lived with other dogs previously however is very excitable and jumpy when he meets them. He tends to jump up to them and gets in their faces which other dogs find very rude. We are open to rehoming him with another dog/s but they will need a premeet up to ensure he is not to energetic for them. He is not reactive when other dogs growl or bark at him. He has also lived with cats and children so can do so again.
Duke is house and kennel/crate trained. As he is only 10 months old he will not be neutered with us but will need to be done after he is 12 months old. We ask that he is either returned to the rescue for a day to be booked in with our vets or that you provide proof of neutering from your own vet, discuss this with Jan.
At the rescue Duke is a very loving and loyal character. He enjoys attention and will sit on the feet of those who want to fuss him. Duke likes to play with toys and will entertain himself with them. He’s full of character and has a wonderful personality to share with a new home
